Bindaring Plantout with Friends of Bindaring Wetland
Continuing with our planting season is our second public plantout at Bindaring Park, in cooperation with the Friends of Bindaring Wetland.
The planting is on the 27th of July; work starts at 9am.
Bindaring Park is a small but vitally important wetland near the banks of the Derbarl Yerrigan (Swan river). As with all wetlands, it is vital due to providing filtration and habitat services; filtering the water of nutrients and sediment before it reaches the river and thereby providing habitat for a large amount of native plants and critters. With this planting, we can all help by increasing the number and diversity of native plants in the wetland, increasing the overall health of the wetland and the river it drains into.
It's highly recommended that you bring/wear gumboots and wet weather gear
BYO water bottle, gloves (if you have them) and mozzie repellent.
Morning tea will be provided.
Park on Anstey Rd near Carnegie St (input 23 Anstey Rd into your GPS) and follow the signs.
**Please ensure that you book a free ticket via this link, so we know how many to cater for**
This planting will use plants grown by BPG.
Hope to see you there!
