Angioganthus viridus (Green Kangaroo Paw)

Rhizomatous, perennial, herb, 0.05-0.85 m high. Fl. green/yellow-green, Aug to Oct. Sand, loam, clay. Winter-wet areas.

Juncus kraussii (Sea Rush)

Rhizomatous, perennial, herb, 0.3-1.2 m high. Fl. brown/red, Oct to Dec or Jan. White or grey sand, clay, alluvium. Swamps, brackish estuaries, saline flats.

Conostylis accculeata (Prickly Conostylis)   

Rhizomatous, perennial, grass-like or herb, 0.06-0.5(-0.6) m high. Fl. yellow, Aug to Nov. Sand, loam, clay, gravel, limestone, laterite. Winter-wet areas, swamp margins, drainage areas, ditches, sand dunes.

Melaleuca lateritia (robin redbreast bush)  

Erect shrub growing to about 2.5 m high, to 3 m wide. The flowers are bright-orange red, in spikes to 80 mm long and 60 mm.  Flowering occurs over an extended period from August to April. It grows in sandy soil in swampy areas.

Salicornia quinqueflora  (Beaded Samphire)

Perennial, succulent plant with swollen and jointed branches. Up to 30 cm high and wide which spreads by forming roots on the prostrate stems.  Small white flowers appear from the joints between the “beads” from autumn to winter and are followed by spongy fruit about 8 mm long. Grows naturally in saline environments.

Eucalyptus rudis (Flooded Gum)

Tree, 5-20 m high, bark rough, box-type. Fl. white, Jul to Sep. Sandy or loam soils. Wetter parts of south-western WA, flats, hillsides.

Tecticornia indica subsp. bidens

A species of plant that is succulent and halophyte (salt tolerant) which grows in salt marshes. Stem & branches are modified as main photosynthetic structures. The Stem is jointed. Flowers are said to be fine and present in scales. The fruit of this plant is round and green.
